Late spring is the best time of the year to visit Detroit. The weather warms up, and the early spring rains die down. The temperate weather during the season makes it enjoyable to be outside. Expect temperatures to be in the 60s in early spring and continue to warm up as it gets closer to summer. The spring season brings the beginning of baseball season. Summer

The summers in Detroit are sunny and hot. Temperatures can easily reach well above the 80s. If you’re prepared for the heat, then you will enjoy Detroit summers. With school out and people taking vacations, you’ll find the most crowds and events during the summer. There is the famous Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix in June. The Concours d’Elegance of America brings the world’s most elegant and expensive cars in July. Then in August, you can experience Scottish culture at the Highland Games.

Fall

The fall months offer a reprieve from the summer months and are more temperate than spring. This makes it the perfect time of year to spend time outside. Expect temperatures to drop to the 50s and 60s. Dres sin layers or wear a light jacket. The fall season brings the hockey season, so buy tickets to a Detroit Red Wings game at Little Caesars Arena. The North American International Auto Show also features $10 million worth of the best vehicles in the world.

Winter

The winter season in Detroit is not for the faint of heart. The temperatures are bitterly cold, and the snow is plentiful. Expect temperatures to drop to the 30s and below. In addition, because Detroit is between Lakes Erie and Huron, the lake effect snow does happen. However, the Motor City still has plenty to offer in winter. This is the perfect time of year to explore the indoor attractions. You can also hunker down in one of the many cozy bars and restaurants. Check out the Plymouth Ice Festival, where interactive ice sculptures are displayed. During the holiday season, Noel Night is a ca n’t-miss event.
