About the Arena
Originally known as the Ice Palace, Amalie Arena first opened in 1996. In 2002 it was renamed the St. Pete Times Forum. Then in 2011, it became the Tampa Bay Times Forum. Finally, in 2014 it became the Amalie Arena after AMALIE OIL.
Thanks to a $62 million improvement program, the arena consistently ranks as one of the best in the country and the world. It hosts over 150 events each year. The arena covers 670,000 square feet with three decks and seven levels. There are also 71 suites situated around the arena.
Several VIP areas create elevated and luxury experiences for those attending events. These include the Ashley VIP Lounge and Chase Club. Purchase these luxury experiences in addition to your event ticket and enjoy special entrance privileges, complimentary drinks, and specialty dining options.
The Amalie Arena is the home of the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team. In 2021, The Lightning became Stanley Cup champions for a third time and the first ever to win two Stanley Cups within one year.
Drinks and Dining
There are plenty of drinking and dining options throughout the arena. Cur(ate) TPA, Ford's Garage, Wicked Oak Barbeque, Mr. Empanada, J&J Snack Foods, Outback, Steakhouse, Papa John's Pizza, and PDQ are located within the arena. The arena is also located next to Channelside, which has several bars and restaurants.
There are several parking lots located around the arena. These are the best places to park, as they are the closest lots. Arrive early, as they are first come, first parked. You will also need to pay with a credit card. You can purchase parking in advance to ensure you have a spot.
